PRONOVIAS is a family firm that began life in ‘El Suizo’, a prestigious Barcelona store founded by Alberto Palatchi Bienveniste in 1922 that specialised in lace, embroidery and high-quality silk fabrics.
What started as a family business would later grow to become Pronovias. In 1964, when Alberto Palatchi Ribera joined, the company pioneered the creation of the first prêt-à-porter bridal fashion, a revolution at the time, which made wedding dresses accessible to all women.
The company started internationalising in 1977, pioneering the franchise business and opening the first store of this kind in the Netherlands before moving into North America and Asia during the nineties. Pronovias leads the world with its extensive distribution network, with more than 4,000 points of sale in more than 105 countries.
Since the seventies, Pronovias has had network of 50 franchises which shares the values and savoir-faire of its own stores, guaranteeing a unique shopping experience, that has reached all corners of the world.
In 2017 the BC Partners investment group bought the company that until then had a more familiar approach, to start its expansion and growth plan. In 2018 Nicole Fashion Group becomes part of the Pronovias Group and in 2019 Ladybird joined the team. The expansion process is supported by the creation of subsidiaries in New York, Italy and Shanghai.
In 2021, Pronovias Group signed an exclusive ten-year licensing agreement with the renowned fashion designer Vera Wang. With a shared love for fashion, craftsmanship and quality, the addition of Vera Wang Bride to the company’s brand portfolio consolidates Pronovias Group reputation as an undisputed world leader and innovator in luxury bridal.
